All Kidneys Are Pink – Jeffrey Veale, MD | UCLA Kidney Transplant Program
All kidneys are pink. The bodies in which they’re housed can be various shades of brown, attend various places of worship, have various political associations, live in various parts of the town, region, state or country. But the kidneys? They’re, quite simply, pink. No one knows this better than transplant professionals. In fact, the UCLA Kidney Transplant Program performed a staggering 363 kidney transplants in 2017, more than any other U.S. transplant center, according to federal data. Dr. Jeffrey Veale, associate professor of urology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, explains how a transplant surgeon sees the world in this video: All Kidneys Are Pink.
